Friends Of The Earth Grenada

Make a Difference Today

FoE Grenada’s main national campaigns concern land use (particularly in relation to tourism), coastal cleanup, sustainable agriculture, local sustainability and good governance, and campaigns against the shipment of nuclear and other toxic waste across the Caribbean. FoEI campaign participation includes climate change, International Financial Institutions (IFI), Trade, Environment and Sustainability (TES), wetlands and sustainable societies. FoE Grenada considers the fight for sustainability and environmental protection to be inseparable from human rights and social justice. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.

Friends Of The Earth Grenada is achieving more with our initiatives than ever before. We work on many exciting projects to help improve the lives of others, and are very proud of the progress we continue to make. Together We Can

There are challenges faced, from unsustainable resource development to climate change, they are very complex and multi-layered. It may seem impossible to build a future where nature and people thrive.

But it's not. Friends Of The Earth Grenada brings together communities and other partners to find new pathways towards a sustainable future. It takes courage, patience, and a steadfast commitment to finding common ground. It takes years of wisdom gained from successes and failures. It takes trust. It takes donors who see the power of a collective approach. At Friends Of The Earth Grenada, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Support is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

Education

Helping The Community

Education is an essential element of the global response to climate change. It helps young people understand and address the impact of global warming, encourages changes in their attitudes and behavior and helps them adapt to climate change-related trends. Friends of the earth goal is to make climate change education a more central and visible part of the country response to climate change. We aim to help people understand the impact of global warming today and increase "climate literacy" among young people. With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence towards change. "If we continue to allow the destruction of our beaches how can we, in all honesty, be calling ourselves the champions of climate change mitigation in the Caribbean?"

The first Earth Day occurred in 1970, after being proposed as a way raise public awareness about pollution and celebrate the planet’s environment. Since then, it has become an annual educational opportunity and celebration of the Earth. It motivated public support for the creation of the Environment
